If you get a slight gas leak, the heavier than air Butane or Propane gas can escape through the vent, rather than build up inside your gas locker. The fine insect proof mesh is a nice touch. Fitting is easy, simply drill a 30mm hole in the lowest part of the locker, push in the top part and snap it together with the bottom part, having applied a seal of silicon or polyurethane caulking.
